Utah Trip 2013: Temple Quarry, Sprinklers, and a Two-Seater

After In-N-Out we decided to take the kids up the canyon to the Temple Quarry. The rock for the Salt Lake Temple was taken from here. We left Livy at home with Brooke and Tyler since it had been quite  a long day for her.

Cody was looking for a rock that was perfectly round like a ball.

Climbing up the huge rocks is so much fun. I remember doing that as a kid so many times.

On the way home from the canyon I pointed out some automatic sprinklers to Kylee and explained that in Utah you have to water your grass for it to stay green. When we got home my dad turned on the sprinklers and the kids were mesmerized. It was hilarious. For the rest of the trip Cody and Kylee were on the lookout for sprinklers.

Grandpa's roses.

Steve and I had to run to his cousin's house to borrow a kid pack for hiking. My dad suggested we take his car. Suddenly our errands felt more like a date.

Summer nights in Utah are the absolute best. It was a great ride! On the way home it was a little more interesting. I had to fit the kid pack on my lap (because there's nowhere else to put it!) and it was a little more chilly, but still lots of fun.

While we were gone the kids had fun in the game room. Kylee got the highest cheater score.

It was a GREAT first day in Utah!
