Utah Trip 2013: Red Pine Lake

We planned a few hikes for our family to do in the early hours since our kids always wake up on Eastern Time. Our first morning we got up bright and early and hiked Red Pine Lake. It was a little colder than we had anticipated so the kids had to wear their pajamas since they were the only pants we had. Cody and Steve were the only ones that made it all the way to the lake. The hike ended up being 8 miles instead of 4 total. The girls went 2.5 miles and then we decided we wouldn't torture them any longer since they were cold and tired. So my dad helped me pack them back to the car. I think 5 miles for a little one is pretty darn good!

Up ahead of Cody in the trees we spotted a moose! If you look closely you can see it.

Cody took this picture because he thought the shadow on the mountain looked like a shark.

It turns out the boys hiked through a lot of snow starting soon after we took the girls back down the mountain. Good timing!

The girls were so cold. They were happy to finally see the sun come up!

The boys had fun just being together...

and the girls had fun playing in the car with Grandpa's phone and warming up.
