Red Neck Photo Shoot

So, we wanted some more pictures of our kids for our wall. We started with Cody so that Kylee could watch and learn.

And after a few tossers we actually got some keepers.

And just as we predicted Kylee wanted in on the action after watching Cody. She sat right down and started cheesing it up.

And now for the behind-the-scenes shots:

Here is where all the magic happened. Saggy diaper and outgrown clothing are all part of the experience.

And just in case you want to make your own...

Supplies needed for a red neck photo shoot:

2 chairs
2 black coats
1 piece of black felt
cute kids

Kirtland Trip

We made a quick day trip to Kirtland, OH to see some church history sites while Steve had his Spring Break. It was fun to have a change of scenery and the weather was great for us the whole time.

Here we are by the Kirtland temple which was the first temple that was built by our church after it was restored, but it is no longer owned by our church anymore. We were able to take a tour and see how beautiful it was inside.

Here we are in front of the temple.

I was loving these green doors.

And Kylee was suddenly in the mood to model.

This temple cost more than any other temple built since - $40,000 (taking into account inflation).

Then we went down the street to Historic Kirtland and the Sister Missionaries took us around to the different houses and told us about them. Kylee found the puddles with no problem.

Here we are in front of the Newel K. Whitney Store where the Prophet Joseph and his family stayed for awhile. We went with our friends Drew and Lindsey and baby Darcy. Drew and Steve have a lot of classes together at school.

Isaac Morley Farm

John Johnson Farm

The whole day Kylee and Cody couldn't get enough of Darcy. On our way home I told the kids that we would be going to the zoo the next day and Cody asked if we could invite Darcy (she is 7 months old). And Kylee just kept talking about how cute Darcy is.

Camping IN

The first night of our spring break we decided to have a "Camp In." We set up the tent in our basement and all slept inside. Cody was the only one who got a good night's rest. That boy can sleep through anything. I was sleeping by Kylee and she kicked me the entire night.

And here is Kylee at 8:30 the next morning in her own bed. Apparently kicking her mom in the guts all night was pretty tiring. Poor Little Lamb.

Portrait

We have been getting together pictures to print out and put on our wall.

We needed a few more of our kids and we wanted them to look PRO.

This style might have been in a few years ago, but I think we are going to keep looking.

The Sun Came Out--So We Did Too!

We went to the ZOO! It was so fun to be outside when the sun was out (that is a tricky combination here in Pittsburgh, at least during the winter).

I love these next four pictures of Cody. Flip-book style.

And I love this picture of the three cutest people I know. I was trying to take pictures of them with the sharks behind. But I couldn't get them to look at me because they were having so much fun checking out the sharks. So I took the picture anyway and I'll just pretend that I told them to look at the sharks and not me.

Sicky on the Stairs

Poor Cody woke up sick the other day. He came downstairs while we all ate breakfast but by the middle of the morning he pooped out on the bottom stair.

Is he trying to smile in his sleep? Looks painful, doesn't it?

Cute little boy of mine. I sure like him.

Will Read For PEZ

Cody was reading a book to Kylee so Steve secretly got the camera out to capture the moment. He got one picture before Cody noticed, and then Cody didn't want to cooperate.

So we bribed with Pez candy (like any good parent does) and then they suddenly got cooperative. Look at those happy faces!

Here they are hovering over the one pez dispenser we own. My mom sent it to them for Valentine's Day and it was a hit. Now they can't imagine a world without pez.

This is Cody reading to Kylee before he realized he was on camera.

Here is Cody and Kylee breaking out the Pez. Cody is the designated "loader" but he always shares the candy with Kylee who stuffs as many in her little mouth as she possibly can.

P.S. I didn't know Steve was filming so don't mind me in the background...oops!

I love Kylee's giddy laugh when she is eating candy. She really does that every time she gets a treat.
