Reminiscing about the Rich's

I have been horrible at keeping up with pictures this past year (or should I say this past 9 months since that would be a little more accurate!)

I finally asked my sister Sara for her pictures that I have been wanting to blog about since we lived with them last fall during the flood renovation. So here is a tribute to our memories with the Rich's for the last 9 months...

The kids cannot get enough of Duncan and that has been true since the beginning...

I think Duncan's face says it all. Sometimes the love (or should I say the smothering) is a little one-sided.

Sara and I were able to get some projects done after we put the kids to bed. It was fun to live in the same house and do things together in the evenings. We made these pumpkins one night.

And Kylee's owl costume could not have been done without Sara's sewing machine and stash of old t-shirts. (thanks Sara!) 

Fallen asleep again...and right in the middle of a book too. Just like her mom.

My mom sent the boys matching monster truck shirts and they both happened to be wearing their twin shirts one day when we went over to their house to visit. Cody was pretty excited about the coincidence. Can you tell?

Well, if you couldn't tell in the last picture then you should be able to tell in this one.

For an early Christmas present Steve got Bob Harry Potter 7 tickets (for all four of us).

The movie started at 9:30..... AM! That is probably the earliest double date I've been on (and the only date Steve and I had in Pittsburgh)

No matter how old Duncan gets Kylee cannot help herself. She MUST help Duncan drink his bottle. It's the future mother in her.

And she MUST give him hugs too....

....she's getting better at being more gentle with her hugs. Hopefully that means that when her new baby sister arrives she won't completely smother her.

My mom came into town for a weekend to hang out with us while we all lived together in Pittsburgh. It was so fun go back and forth between our houses and party it up.

Steve and I had to make a last minute house hunting day trip to Maryland a few months ago and Sara and Bob were kind enough to let us leave the kids with them. And I am glad we did. They had a lot more fun with them then they would have in the car for 8 hours with us. They played Sorry....

We love the Rich Family and are so glad we could be neighbors. I thought that we would be able to help them so much when they came to live in Pittsburgh since we had already learned the ways, but they helped us out way more than I ever imagined we would need over the last few months.

Our First Visitors...

Last week we got to see Steve's Grandma and Grandpa Farnworth! They had planned a trip to stay with Aunt Gwen and see the sights in DC and we were lucky enough to be barely moved in by the time they arrived.  Besides having our first out-of-town visitors, it was also Steve's first day of work, so there was a lot to celebrate. Lucky for us we live a block away from Red Robin and our kids couldn't have been happier to eat all the french fries they could ask for.

Cousin Reunion

Cody and Kylee have gotten to spend a few days with their cousin! Sara, Bob, and Duncan came to visit us and the kids have had a lot of fun being together. This is how they eat at the table together: AS CLOSE AS POSSIBLE. My kids scoot their chairs as close to Duncan as their chairs will allow and then they lean in closer. Good thing Duncan likes it (most of the time). :)

Rain Dancing

Our first week in Columbia we had beautiful, bright, sunny days. This week, however, it has been partly sunny/cloudy until the afternoon when we get a downpour for a little while (right about the time Steve is riding his bike home from work).

So the kids, who are probably feeling a little cooped up, decided to put their snow boots on and make the best of it. Cody's moves were cracking me up. And Kylee was jumping up and down the whole time.

In the last picture you can see that they are worn out and getting a little cold.
But it was fun while it lasted. :)
