In all the excitement of June birthdays around here I forgot to post about my own birthday.
I woke up to Cody whispering, "Happy Birthday, Mom. I finished the Book of Mormon today!" I'd have to say that was the best birthday gift I could have received. Cody started in January of 2012 reading 10 verses every day and finally finished. Pretty cool!
When we came downstairs for breakfast, Kylee asked why the house wasn't decorated (because we do that for the kids birthdays). Steve said, "oops! I guess I was in charge of that." It was pretty funny.
Steve had to work, Cody had school, and so the girls and I did what we usually do every morning. We went around Lake Centennial (about 3 miles) and then played at the playground. I love it -- I get my exercise and then the kids burn some of their energy too. It's a win-win.
Since it was my birthday I thought I would make it more interesting by bringing the camera to the park and taking pictures of the girls while they played. Well, the girls didn't think that was such a good idea. Kylee got upset any time she saw me with the camera and Livy thought it would be a fun game to run away any time I tried to take a picture. So, out of the many attempts to get some fun pictures I ended up with four pictures that are keepers. Oh well, it was a nice try. :)
Afterwards we went to Chick-Fil-A for lunch with some friends. Once Steve got home we took the family out to dinner at a new burger joint near us called...The Burger Joint. We had fun eating at an outside table in the pouring rain.
Thanks to all those who sent birthday wishes, gifts, and cards!!
Our friend's have a pass to the Maryland Science Center in Baltimore and invited us to go. After a few hours at the Science Center we zipped home to go to Kylee's Kindergarten Orientation...

The view from the Science Center entrance. It was beautiful!

After Kindergarten Orientation Steve came home and we started on dinner. We had to pause the birthday festivities for a little bit to take cover in the basement until the tornado passed. It had touched down about 20 minutes away from our house, but left us alone.
After a delicious dinner of ground beef enchiladas we got to the birthday stuff. Livy asked for pinkalicious cupcakes. She loves the book Pinkalicious so much. Whenever someone would talk about birthday cake she would say "cupcakes" and she knows the difference!
SMILE!
Here's a cute video of her eating her cupcake.
Kylee made a little scavenger hunt and hid Livy's presents while we made dinner. It ended up being Kylee handing Livy her first clue and then Kylee and Cody leading her to her presents. I think they were just too excited to wait for her to find the clues.
Go, Dog, Go! is a favorite book.
packages from both Grandma's
a backpack
Teddy Grahams and a note from Grandpa Dean
sandals just like Kylee's!
sunglasses! (I love watching her try to put these on)
a toy camera
a purse
This video is funny because the kids thought I was just asking them to say "Happy Birthday" to get them to smile for pictures. That's why they are saying "click, click" while they strike poses.
One morning at breakfast Livy decided to throw her half-full bowl of cereal under the table because she was finished. This wasn't the first time something like this has happened but it was the first time that she had to clean it up all by herself.
