Kirtland Trip

We made a quick day trip to Kirtland, OH to see some church history sites while Steve had his Spring Break. It was fun to have a change of scenery and the weather was great for us the whole time.

Here we are by the Kirtland temple which was the first temple that was built by our church after it was restored, but it is no longer owned by our church anymore. We were able to take a tour and see how beautiful it was inside.

Here we are in front of the temple.

I was loving these green doors.

And Kylee was suddenly in the mood to model.

This temple cost more than any other temple built since - $40,000 (taking into account inflation).

Then we went down the street to Historic Kirtland and the Sister Missionaries took us around to the different houses and told us about them. Kylee found the puddles with no problem.

Here we are in front of the Newel K. Whitney Store where the Prophet Joseph and his family stayed for awhile. We went with our friends Drew and Lindsey and baby Darcy. Drew and Steve have a lot of classes together at school.

The whole day Kylee and Cody couldn't get enough of Darcy. On our way home I told the kids that we would be going to the zoo the next day and Cody asked if we could invite Darcy (she is 7 months old). And Kylee just kept talking about how cute Darcy is.
