Las Vegas was up to 118 degrees while we were staying there, but the dry climate plus the pool made life great. Hooray for a vacation from humidity!
Before we had been at grandma's for 10 minutes we were changed and ready to jump in the pool, but not before we had a popsicle. The kids fell in love with the pool and only got out for bathroom breaks, eating, and sleeping. Cody went from swimming around with a pool noodle to diving in and swimming across the pool by the time we went back to Utah. He seriously turned into a fish. Kylee made a little bit of progress too and Livy liked playing with the rocks around the pool more than being in it.
Bright and early we were out at the pool every day. Livy loves rocks so playing in the backyard was heavenly for her.
Breakfast at the poolside.
Cody pushed Kylee around in this little boat.
Once Cody lost the pool noodle and put on googles it was all business for him. He was amazing all of us with how fast he was learning and trying new things.
Livy loved throwing the dice back in the pool.
Then grandma found her snorkels and we never saw Cody's face out of the water for the rest of the trip.
Grandpa Airplane bought Grandma a shotgun for her birthday. Just to make sure it worked the boys took it out to the desert the day before her birthday. They went in the middle of the day and it was a scorcher!
Cody took a lot of these pictures (except for the pictures where Steve is shooting the pistol--he used a tripod for those).
Steve said Cody did really well shooting without a refresher. Cody seems to have a knack for it.
You might say that Steve was on fire because he was shooting so well, but he was also actually on fire because it was so hot that the gun was burning his hands.
For Grandma Tammy's birthday we decided to go to the breakfast buffet. When Grandma told the kids what a buffet was they were so excited. They heard donuts and bacon and they were sold. When they saw the pile of bacon they said, "grandma! it's bigger than you said!!"
donuts and bacon
two {huge} donuts, bacon, and sausage
The birthday girl with her biscuits and gravy
Steve was into the donuts too.
Cody was too busy drinking to stop and look at the camera.
Then we played some Rack-O
It was a pretty serious game.
Strawberry shortcake for grandma AND chocolate Costco cake for grandpa...his and hers.
It was great to stay and play in the summer and enjoy the pool! We're glad we could come down!
