Most of Cody's birthday was spent playing outside. We went to a few different parks that day--on our own and with friends--and the weather was perfect for it. We had Cody's favorite dinner at his request: pot pie. And then we did a hunt for the presents and had some Perry the Platypus cake (or should I say Agent P) and ice cream too.
This is how Kylee enjoys pot pie for dinner...(she doesn't). Just killing time until the birthday cake comes out. The bad news was she had to eat 5 bites of her dinner before she could have cake. The good news was she did it!!
Livy doesn't really like pot pie either but she ate her dinner all gone this time. There must have been some birthday magic in the air. Another miracle.
This kid loves pot pie!
After his treasure hunt Cody opened his presents. He got a really cool book from his sisters: Star Wars Folded Flyers. It shows how to make Star Wars ships out of paper that really fly. You can't go wrong with paper airplanes with Cody.
He also got the game Pandemic from Steve and I. We specifically got a game where everyone works together as a team to win the game. That's just the kind of great parents that we are. I have a feeling the unity in this family is going to go through the roof.
He also got a watch, Farkle Flip game, and some books from Grandpa Airplane and Grandma T.
(Present from Grandpa Dean and Grandma Ellen will be personally delivered when my dad comes out for Cody's baptism.)
Another birthday miracle: Steve handed over the lighter and let Cody light his own candles all on his own. I have NEVER seen Steve give up a chance to be in charge of fire. That's love for a son if I've ever seen it.
