Here's the proof that we do other things besides eat birthday cake in June...
One night the kids were all having fun together carrying Livy around.
They were laughing their heads off which always produces great smiles.
Livy likes to smell the flowers in our yard.
The humidity has really increased in the last week or two around here and so have Livy's curls.
Grandpa Airplane came for a split-second visit. He came in from Africa late Sunday night (on Father's Day) and left our house by 10am the next morning to get ready for his trip to Germany. The kids were so excited to see him. We asked Cody if he would like to sleep under Kylee's bed so Grandpa could sleep in his room. Cody told us he had been wanting to sleep under there ever since we got the bed. When the kids woke up the next morning we told them they had to wait until 7:00am to wake up Grandpa. I could hear them in their room counting down...
"three minutes...
two minutes...
one minute and thirty seconds..."
And then Grandpa came in their room to say good morning and they all cheered. They got to see Grandpa for an extra minute and life was good.
As a surprise to me Steve's parents had Steve buy a built-in microwave the Saturday before and had it ready to install Monday morning. I kind of saw the giant box sitting in my kitchen...oops! But it still made my day. Our other microwave was struggling and it was time for a new one.
Livy was so excited to have Grandpa around. She showed him all of her treasures. And the kids had fun eating waffles with Grandpa before they had to leave for school.
When I came back from the bus stop the microwave was in! Yay!
That gave Grandpa and Livy a whole hour and 15 minutes to hang out before Grandpa had to leave. And she had the books lined up and ready. First up, Mercy Watson!
Kylee and Livy love to play outside in their boots.
While Steve was grilling the girls were checking out the garden. Livy was patting Kylee on the back saying, "Good job! You're working so hard."
Our little square-foot garden boxes are doing awesome this year!
We are excited to have peas, tomatoes, peppers, herbs, carrots, watermelon, and lettuce soon!
