DoUBLe the pLeASuRe, dOUbLe the FUn

This week I am excited to announce that I now own my very own gently used Jeep Twin Stroller (from Craigslist for 1/2 the price!). The kids and I tried it out yesterday and no one was screaming during the entire trip to Michaels and back. Now that is worth $45, wouldn't you say? This stroller is awesome if anyone is in the market. I wanted one that was lightweight and one where the kids could ride side by side. This one is perfect. Now all we need is some more warm weather so that we can keep our newly found freedom when Steve takes the car for the day.

Halloween Leftovers

These are our apple witches we carved at the beginning of October. It has become a little tradition for our family. From left to right: Cody's, Steve's, Tiffany's. Kylee will have to wait until next year to join in. I am sure you are all going to want to copy our tradition of carving produce and then letting it rot for a month...tempting, isn't it?

Here is Kylee in her Halloween costume. Thanks to Aunt Gwen for her connections with the costumes.

Kylee is a Sugar Baby!!

Here is my pumpkin all lit up. I cheated and used a template this year. Steve and I have always been morally against carving templates, but if you knew what my pumpkin looked like last year you would be really glad that I cheated. I know I am.

Here is Steve's cheater cheater pumpkin. Looks awesome, huh?

I am so excited for the holiday season. Yahoo. Halloween has me all primed and excited for more holiday treats. Spending time with family is OK too  :)

How is everyone doing with their Christmas shopping?

Cody in Kylee's Clothes

Where did this kid come from? Sometimes he is such a crack up.  One night, when we were getting ready for bed, Cody decided to try on Kylee's clothes before putting on his pajamas. He has a long-sleeve onesie on and Kylee's jeans (backwards). On his hands and feet he is wearing his own socks. I think it is pretty funny that both of my children can wear the same jeans. And we don't even need to guess what side of the family he gets his weirdness from. All I know is he doesn't have my name for his middle name. :)

Halloween Partying

Steve makes a cute baby

Tif is so heavy she's breaking her mother's back :)

Kylee was a bag of Sugar Babies. A picture of her to come.
Hope you had a Happy Halloween!

Grandpa Airplane

Grandma Tammy took Cody with her the other day to pick up Grandpa Airplane from the airport. Grandpa got permission to take Cody inside an airplane. Before Grandma came to pick up Cody he talked about going to the airport all day. He kept saying that Grandma would pick him up, Grandpa would take him inside the airplane, and he'd smile and Grandma would take his picture. We didn't think he would be able to actually get into the airplane, but Grandpa worked his magic. So it all happened just like Cody said it would.

Gardner Village

We went to Gardner Village with Steve's cousin, Kori, and her two kids McKenzie and Carson. They put up tons of lifesize witches all around the grounds and so we did a little scavenger hunt to see if we could find all of the witches. The kids had fun together. We like hanging out with the Crookstons! Congratulations to them--they just had a new baby girl this week!

Fun & Educational Printables

I found some really fun websites for children that are educational. They have tons of things you can print out for free. There are worksheets for tracing letters, circling opposites, file folder games, birthday party ideas, and tons of other things. Cody can't get enough of this kind of stuff.

http://www.printactivities.com/Tracing.html (Tons of mazes, dot-to-dots, color pages, and tracing pages)

http://www.tlsbooks.com/preschoolworksheets.htm (Lots of worksheets for each grade teaching math, letters, and reading)

http://www.preschoolprintables.com/filefolder/filefolder.shtml (I have printed out a lot of these file folder games, laminated them and added velcro. They are great for church and not very expensive to make)

Most of them are black and white.
Happy printing!

What We've Been Up To...Just Lookin' Cute

These two are best friends according to Cody.

Kylee eating rice cereal for the first time. She's a natural.

This a pretty good likeness of Kylee. I think it's hard to get pictures of babies that actually look like themselves.

Cody likes to climb up in Kylee's crib and keep her company until someone comes to rescue her. On this particular morning he was helping her try on shoes and acting like a cowboy riding his "horse" (the crib rail) and Kylee was in heaven.

We are definitely keeping this one. She's too much fun.

Bear Lake!

Last weekend we got to go to Bear Lake and stay in my brother-in-law, Bob's, cabin. It is so beautiful up there. Bob's parents were so nice to share their beautiful lake-side property with us. They were the perfect hosts. The only sad thing was that Steve wasn't able to come because he had to study for the GMAT. We sure missed him!

The beautiful view from the back yard.

Bob, Cody, and Sara after playing in the boats. You can tell this picture was taken after playing in the water because Cody isn't wearing pants and shoes anymore. He must have had a good time out on the water.

Bob and Cody are great buddies. Bob spent a lot of time hanging out with Cody. He is definately Cody's coolest uncle (and his only one). Here they are with their matching fireman hats on.

Cody, Tiffany, Brooke, Aubrey, and Sara from the cabin balcony

Thanks again Rich family for the great time!

Kylee & Cody Growing Up

Kylee rolled over on Sunday. Steve is so proud of his advanced 3 month old daughter. Just ask him and he'll tell you.

Kylee is still a happy little girl. She is also sleeping 10 hours at night in her own bed. This makes her mom a happy girl as well.

Cody loves his sister so much. He is always trying to sneak a kiss or hug. I love this picture because he is looking at her like he just can't get enough, which is exactly right. He loves sharing a room with her, having her next to us no matter what we are doing, and making her laugh. Making Kylee laugh is not hard for him. She laughs and smiles at him like he can do no wrong. One time he was elbowing her arm and she was laughing out loud. All I have to say is that little girl is in trouble if she lets her brother know that she likes treatment like that.

If it wasn't enough that Steve is a mega computer nerd, he has created a miniature of himself. Cody has adopted our older laptop and is convinced that it is his own. It's actually pretty entertaining to watch him change his desktop picture, play computer games, draw pictures and save them, and turn on music. Luckily, he has his own user and very limited access so that we don't find out the hard way that he can uninstall software and crack passwords.

Cody has had this tricycle since Christmas, but wouldn't pedal it. Well, yesterday he decided it was time to pedal and away he went. It is always amazing to me that he can do anything as long as he feels like it. But if he's not ready, don't hold your breath. (Potty Training comes to mind...maybe someday)
