Hey Baby!

I usually just write an entry when I have a picture to go with it because I love pictures and I figure if I have a picture of it, it must be something I should record. Well, I have something pretty important to write in this little journal of mine even though I don't have a picture. We're expecting! I am only about 7 weeks along right now which means I am not due until the 1st week of June (Happy Birthday to me). It has already felt like a long time, though. The first 3 months seem to drag with the sickness (you are welcome for not posting a picture). Anyway, we are so so so excited! All of this pregnancy business is so worth it and we know Cody will love having a buddy. I can tell Steve is excited because he is already wanting to sort of talk about names. That is saying a lot since last time he didn't want to until a month before Cody came. I am sure Cody doesn't totally understand. He keeps telling me there are 2 babies. Do you think I should take that as a revelation? :) Hmmm. I am not sure where he go that from. Maybe Steve had something to do with that. There is just nothing better than our little family and we are very excited to have another little member.

Dad's Birthday Party - BIG 51

On Sunday we got together to celebrate my dad's birthday. My parents got their new carpet in the basement so we spent time in the new family room playing games. The room is turning out really nice and is really close to being finished. Cody loved the new toy closet under the stairs and spent the whole evening in there playing.

Jeeping in Canyonlands

Steve was off for Fall Break last week and so we went to Canyonlands with his parents, sisters, and Grandpa Farnworth. We rented two Jeeps in Moab and then drove them down to Canyonlands where we camped for 2 nights. Jeeps are invincible. They seem to go over anything and everything without a problem. We went over Elephant Hill a few times, drove to Fat Man's Worry and hiked to the top where the Bookends are, went down the Silver Stairs and over Chicken Rock, and also went through the Squeeze. The top picture is us on top of Elephant Hill and the other picture is us in the Squeeze. The whole weekend was perfect and is definitely something we will be doing again. We have decided that Jeeps are way fun and Steve and I think it would be a blast to own one someday.

Cody hanging out in his igloo tent

Cody loves the tent he got for his birthday! Lately he has been packing it full of blankets, boxes, bikes, toys --whatever he can find-- and playing and playing! He loves to hide in there when Steve comes home so that Steve has to "find" him (even though the tent is in the living room right by the front door). Cody is so good to entertain himself most of the time. Yesterday, I was proofreading my dad's book about my Grandma Duncan and Cody just played in his tent or with this box most of the time. He did want me to read books to him for awhile. So I took a little break and we read all 30 of our library books. If there would have been more we would have read more. Steve had already read most of the books with him before going to school. He loves books! I am grateful for such a good-natured little boy in our family. He has so much love and he is so forgiving and innocent.

Kyle & Ashleigh's Reception

Last week we went to Kyle & Ashleigh's reception at the Timpanogos Park. We had fun visiting with family and enjoying this great September weather. Cody played with Carson and Kenzie in the bushes for most of the time. Cody sometimes gets a little crazy when he gets around other kids. At one point, Cody was a little too excited and started body slamming one of the bushes and flattening it to the ground. Sometimes it's hard not to laugh at kids when they are doing things they shouldn't, but we did put a stop to it and I think the bush will survive.

Car Wash

Cody likes to be a helper when there's water involved. He looks so big in these pictures.

Stars Upon Thars

Cody loves nursery! Every Sunday Cody comes out of nursery with stickers all over his face. It's so funny to watch the kids come out looking like sneeches with smiley faces on their cheeks, nose, and forehead. Cody always looks so sharp for church in his tie and button up shirt--even though he already has a pretty strong opinion about that top button. He is definitely Steve's son.

The Driving Range AND Driving on the Range

This summer Lacey got a job at the Cedar Hills Golf
Course so we get to golf for free. We love to go to the driving range
near closing time and hit a few buckets of balls and then we help Lacey pick up all the balls out in the range. Our favorite part about going to the golf course is driving in the carts around the whole golf course! We hope Lacey's job next summer is this fun.

Farnworth Reunion at East Canyon

Camping last weekend at East Canyon for the Farnworth Reunion was a lot of fun. Tammy, Raquel, Lacey, Steve, me, and Cody all decided to sleep in the same tent so that nobody would miss out on the fun. We laughed like little girls until 1:00am telling funny dating stories and reading from the book "Letters From a Nut." The next day we just played. Cody went swimming with all the kids and Grandma while we played shuffleboard and tennis. We all got roped into playing in the horseshoe tournament, which didn't turn out so bad. We all did better than we thought we would and most of us even got into the winners bracket.
