We spent General Conference weekend with Bob and Sara in Boise and my family in Sandy. It was great to see so many family members in one weekend and a great way to break up our big drive all the way to Moab. On Monday morning we stopped in Provo to see the new Provo City Center temple.
Since the temple is closed on Monday we weren't able to walk around the grounds so we took a picture and jumped in the car again.
Grandpa Airplane and Grandma Tammy were meeting us from Vegas. We had a few extra hours to explore a little bit of Canyonlands for the afternoon. Steve and I had never seen the Island in the Sky section of Canyonlands before.
After stopping at Shafer Overlook we hiked to Mesa Arch.
Mesa Arch juts out on a cliff.
Then we climbed up some rocks by the arch and had a snack while we enjoyed the view.
Steve and I made sure we had awesome hiking snacks to keep the kids going all week long.
We were successful!
On our way back down the trail Cody found a spot to climb. The girls wanted to follow at first but then weren't so sure. It took them a few tries, but after they finally climbed to the top they realized how easy it si to climb on the sandstone. It was a good lesson to learn the first day and it made the rest of the week of hiking a lot more fun.
Each time we got out to do a hike Kylee would decide she didn't want to do it. But once we got past that we all had a good time.
We hiked to Upheavel Dome.
You can barely see us on the right looking down at the dome.
Livy found this little cave and said "Oh look! This was my crib when I was a baby." We laughed about that. Every time she found a little hole the rest of the trip we would say it was Livy's crib and she would climb in.
Headed to an awesome view: Green River Overlook.

After a few more stops to check out the view we headed back to Moab to meet up with Grandma and Grandpa at the Moab Diner. Let the party begin!
