Three days before Kylee's birthday, Steve flew home from his job interview in Washington. Steve felt good about the interview and, according to the company, it was highly likely that he would be offered a job there. Steve arrived home just a few hours before Cody and Kylee had their second official piano recital.
Kylee asked for a Baymax birthday this year (a character from the movie "Big Hero 6"). After the kids were asleep the night before her birthday, Steve and I decorated the house, put together her present: a wiggle car, and baked her cake.

Baymax made out of a balloon and paper.
Steve had to make sure that wiggle car was put together correctly. You would have thought it was his birthday :) We left the wiggle car out in plain site at the bottom of the stairs, knowing that Kylee would be the first to find it in the morning. She is our early riser!
You can also see that we (we, meaning Steve) started repainting our kitchen cabinets in preparation for possibly selling our house. We figured we needed to do it whether we were moving or not. It's a good thing we got a head start on the house!
In the morning before school we had Baymax pancakes with chocolate chips for eyes.
Kylee loved going to school on her birthday. The highlights were getting a birthday crown, a birthday pencil, and hearing her name during the morning announcements.
After school we opened presents
She was so excited to get a new watch!
Grandma Tammy and Grandpa Airplane gave her a round loom and some yarn.
They also gave her a BYU hat that she loves! She and Cody wear their hats all the time.
She also got to open a giant package from Grandpa Dean and Grandma Ellen.
Since it was a school day we did a simple birthday dinner with a friend (Landon) and his family that we are good friends with. She chose walking tacos for dinner and then we ate chocolate Baymax cake and vanilla ice cream.
Baymax is a really easy character to do. This cake took less than two minutes to ice and decorate.
Kylee had lots of fun on her birthday!
By the time my birthday rolled around 5 days later, we had received and accepted a job offer from PNNL with a start date of June 29th. My birthday being on a Saturday, was very busy. We worked like dogs all day long on the house, making a quick trip to Cafe Rio for a birthday dinner. I felt like working all day on the house for my birthday was such a blessing...it meant that we were moving west, something we had been wishing for for a long time!
Between painting and power washing the house we managed to have a little birthday lunch for Liv the next Saturday.
The day before her birthday I went to my Pilates class at the Y (YMCA). I commented to Liv that it was my last day signing her in at the Stay and Play area as a three year old. (You have to write down your child's name and age when you drop them off to play). The nice ladies at the desk decided they would make Liv a crown for her birthday while she was there. Liv wore it the rest of the day.
Here we are at the library after the Y. We took a picture with her crown by her favorite frog in front of the building.

Olivia, Kylee, and Callie
Liv's best friend, Callie, came over with her family for lunch. We had Walking Tacos as requested and giant ice cream cake with Reeses Pieces. Her friend gave her little figurines from the movie, Frozen or "Frozen Friends" as Callie calls them.
All day she kept saying in disbelief, "I just don't feel like I'm 4. I still feel 3." I asked her how she felt a few days later and she said, "I still feel 3." I told her it's ok because I still feel 25. We measured her on the growth chart on her birthday and she expected to be at the 4 foot mark since she was at the 3 foot mark when she was three. ;) Love her!
Moving kind of put a kink in our birthday season, but we still had a great time and felt really excited about our move!
