Welcome to the Best Thanksgiving Ever!
At the top of our list while in Las Vegas was getting some updated pictures of the grandkids. So we moved the kitchen table, made lots of monkey noises, and stood on our heads while holding reflectors and diffusers to get the pictures just right. Just the usual.
The weather in Las Vegas wasn't as warm as we would have liked. The one day that was sunny was also super windy (as you can see in the pictures below). But we did have some success at getting a picture of Raquel's family.
waiting for everyone to get there.
Then we tried to get a few shots of our family, but the wind really started to pick up.
We did a lot more than just take pictures though. The kids got in the hot tub almost every day. And Raquel told Kylee that if she smiled nicely for pictures she would jump in the cold pool. The kids loved that, of course!
Kylee and Cody even braved the cold water for a minute.
Kylee had her first experience prepping the turkey for Thanksgiving dinner. Grandma was prepared with latex gloves and even made sure Kylee knew it was a yucky job. Unfortunately, Kylee still may have been scarred for life because no one actually saw her eat the turkey for dinner.

Can you spy the coins in every picture?
Since Gordon was out of town, Steve took the opportunity to bug him by putting his grubby mitts all over Gordon's coins.
Raquel caught the best (unposed) picture of the week.

The girls kept busy with markers and lots of construction paper.
Here is Dallin breaking in his new quilt. I had a lot of fun making it.
I think I'll make a king size one for me someday.
The treadmill is always a kid magnet and everyone had rug burns to prove it.
Cody and Austin
More paper!
More pool time!
and lots of dancing!
On Thanksgiving morning we did a Turkey Run 5K with all the kids. The race started while we were still getting all the kids situated with scooters and strollers. Apparently Cody was ready at the starting line because he took off by himself and did awesome!
Grandma stuck with these little girls who loved catching up with the turkey and getting candy. They would take turns sitting on each others lap.
Steve helped me run my fastest time!
Kylee even ran some of the race!
It was a great way to start off the day!
Livy, Cody, and Austin watching some Thanksgiving football
Monopoly Millionaire was a new fun game
While the turkey cooked the kids played at the park before the sun went down.
And then it was time to eat!!
Not including the cooked bird we had 6 turkeys at our feast!
Time for PIE!
Right before starting our drive home the kids stuck a million stickers on Raquel. She was a good sport - especially since they put them on her eyelashes and eyelids.
It was a great week filled with lots of fun and not much sickness (except for Brady getting strep throat - sorry!)
