On the spur of the moment our friends invited us to go on a hike with them as soon as school got out on the Friday before General Conference. We went to Palouse Falls.
I wasn't sure if the kids would be excited when they got home and found out that we were going hiking because they had been running all day at school. Their school had a Jog-A-Thon that day where all the kids run as many laps as they can in an hour. Liv and I went to the school twice that day: once for the 5th grade hour (and then went home, had some lunch) and then the 2nd grade hour. I'm really glad we went because it ended up being tons of fun to cheer on all the kids. The Kindergartners ran their little hearts out. Cody ended up tying with his friend for first in his class and won a pedometer. He did 17 laps. (That's what that stamp on his hand is from). Kylee also did really well with 10 laps. Despite their big day of running they were all good sports while hiking and had fun running around with their friends.

Cody found some huge beetles and kept picking them up. All the little kids were very impressed.
On our way to the falls it was a little steep for the little ones.
Right before this picture was taken Kylee fell into a deeper part of the water and got wet up to her armpits. This is her trying-to-have-a-good-attitude smile. Shortly after this Cody got dunked up to his chin!
The rock formations were really interesting.
Liv: "Don't let my dad take our picture! Run!"
I love listening to a bunch of four year olds talk when they're in their own world and they don't realize anyone else is listening.
We ate some dinner at a picnic table and packed up as the sun was starting to set. Then we made the hour and a half drive home. It was tons of fun.
