Our next door neighbor, Ellie, had her birthday party on Saturday (the day of the snow dump). Lucky for us we were still able to go because we didn't have to drive. They live in the townhouse right next to ours so we didn't have too far to go.
P.S. Kylee and Steve were at the party as well, but I don't seem to have any pictures of them. I took like 80 pictures so I am not sure how that is even possible.
Can you see the top of the fire hydrant? It's a good thing they shoveled earlier so that we had a path.
We got together with the Welsh's (another townhouse neighbor/friend) and Ellie's grandparents and aunt Jenny (who are so much fun). The first thing we did was sing happy birthday to Ellie. Martina, her mom, made Ellie her own cute little cake. It has bananas and cream and chocolate inside.
Then we all ate and ate. There were 2 or 3 different cakes and cookies each, plus meatballs, fruit, salsa and chips, and potato salad. Cody and Ellie got to sit at the kid table where they ate cookies and cake (I don't think either one of them ate real food). Ellie kept telling her grandpa that he was being too loud and that he needed to talk quieter so that she could talk with Cody. It was pretty funny.
Then we played games. The first game we played you had to dance to the music and then as soon as the music stopped you had to hurry and jump on a paper square on the floor. If you didn't get on a square you were out. All the adults played until we let it get down to Cody and Ellie. As you can see Ellie is quite the dancer and Cody....well, he's just not. What Cody is good at though is guarding the last square. So even though Ellie is the queen of dancing Cody won the game. He won a...
...Kinder Egg! And he was so excited. Can you tell?
Then we played a little "Spin the Bottle" game where you pick a card when the bottle stops and points to you. And you have to do whatever the card says to do.
Then we opened presents! Here Ellie and Cody are playing with the felt sack lunch I made.
Then, for the last and final game the kids (Cody and Ellie) got to go upstairs and jump off the bed into a pile of pillows and blankets. This party was every kids dream!

I love this post. The last picture with Ellie and her cake looks so professional and the picture of Cody winning the Kinder Egg is classic.
